This is a list of podcasts that I particularly love listening to about gardening. I know there have to be plenty more, so please share them with me! I’m always looking for something good to listen to while working.
The Joe Gardener Show– Joe Lampl from the PBS show Growing a Greener World has a podcast with experts, authors, and innovators about all aspects of gardening and sustainable living. Check out Growing a Greener World too, a great gardening resource available online and from your local PBS station. Growing a Greener world is great to watch during those winter months when nothing much is happening in the garden.
The Modern Homestead with Harold Thornbro – Interviews with guests on all kinds of topics from raising livestock to permaculture solutions. Plus regular updates from Harold on how things are going on his homestead. A very inspirational show, as it seems what Thornbro really wants to do is to convince his audience that they too can homestead.
Backyard Bounty with Nicole and Guests – From Heritage Acres Market – Nicole has guests on that speak of diverse topics from bee keeping to heirloom seeds. Lively conversations that are informative and interesting. This is a show where you can browse episodes for a specific topic or listen to whatever topic the current episode is about and be entertained and informed either way.
Not directly related to gardening:
The Doctor’s Farmacy -Mark Hyman M.D. – While not always being directly related to gardening, Dr. Hyman’s discussions on healthy living are accessible to everyone, and he covers topics with experts in everything from community health and nutrition to meditation and spirituality. Dr. Hyman’s discussions are for lay people, not medical professionals, yet at the same time he does delve into the science and research behind the information.
These are a few podcasts I enjoy. What am I missing? I’d love to hear from you on what you like, either directly related to gardening or not.
